God's Glory is in Your Story!

Many of us have a testimony of God's goodness in our lives. But do you ever suffer from Imposter Syndrome? Imposter Syndrome is a pattern of doubting one's own skills, talents or accomplishments.

I know I suffer from this at times. Sometimes, when it comes to my writing, I feel like everything has already been said, and said well by someone else.

Recently, I purchased a ‘comparable’ book for my research. But as I turned each page, I realized this WAS my book! This author was saying precisely what I wanted to say. And she has a much bigger readership and platform!

But the Lord is so gracious! As I continued to read, I felt God gently speak to me about my experiences, my words, and my readers. Using my unique voice and telling my story, I know I will be able to share the message of God's love and faithfulness with my readers.

‘Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.’ Isaiah 30:18

Writing is like cooking. Have you ever noticed that everyone makes potato salad differently? Even if we all make the same dish, we use different recipes according to our tastes, with each result being different but still good (usually, LOL).

In the same way, God has given each of us a unique personality and testimony to share with others about his grace, faithfulness, and love. God's glory is in your story! Your unique voice tells of God’s grace and mercy through your life with your circumstances and experiences.

Be encouraged! You have a story. You have a voice. God has given you the gift of a talent, a voice and an audience. Your audience is your circle of influence, whether it's your co-workers, family, friends, social media followers or any other group you participate in. YOU are uniquely positioned to reach that audience with your voice; your message of hope!

So shrug off that discouragement, you are not an imposter, you are unique! Keep creating!

Why don't you start by sharing below what you are working on to share YOUR voice and to bring glory to God's grace in your life?
